The role provides an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager who will focus on delivering a vendor solution to support the Bank's middle office pricing process. The project in question provides a distinctive opportunity to lead a project spanning the RBA’s front and middle office key functions. This is an exciting opportunity that focuses on redefining and enhancing pricing processes through new technology and process reengineering.

In the role you will be required to manage the end to end lifecycle of the project from the initial planning phase through to its conclusion.  This includes the identification of potential vendors and execution of Expression of Interest (EOI) and Request for Tender (RFT) processes in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines. The key objectives of this role are to provide effective leadership, management, support and guidance to enable successful delivery of this and other projects. Additionally your day will consist of:

  • Manage the evaluation and selection of vendor products which meet the business requirements and strategic objectives of the Bank.
  • Develop robust and achievable plans to ensure project deliverables are timely, to specification and of high quality.
  • Lead the development of relevant procurement documentation, vendor selection and ongoing vendor management activities.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other project/delivery teams, business areas and external parties to ensure interdependencies are identified early and managed successfully and ensure successful delivery of project outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with project stakeholders, including customers, vendors, third parties and internal delivery and business teams.
  • Establish best practice processes that align with the project management framework at the Bank.

To be successful in the role we would expect that you would bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications and project management certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Solution Delivery Lifecycle and an understanding of the solution design and technology selection process.
  • Demonstrated experience in running procurement processes, technology selection and vendor management activities.
  • Experience delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
  • Experience analysing and interpreting business needs, processes and operational problems.
  • Strong business acumen gained from being a PM on the business-side.
  • Strong technical understanding.
  • Use of waterfall and agile project management methodologies.

You will also benefit from having a strong understanding of financial market operations and trading instruments.
