Front End Web Developer

This role will contribute to the front-end design, development and ongoing maintenance of the Bank's web resources (internal and external). Assist the Web Team Manager in ensuring that the performance of the Bank's web resources meets operational and reputational requirements, along with international and Australian government standards of functionality and accessibility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop websites in support of Public Access & Education.
  • Assist the Web Manager in ensuring the efficient day to day functioning of the Bank's external website, Intranet and other web resources.
  • Create high quality graphics while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Ensure the appropriate management of pre-embargo information being prepared for publication on the external website.
  • Work with the Web Team to ensure that the accessibility obligations for the Bank's website designs are met.
  • Monitor the design and functionality of the Bank's web resources and formulate recommendations to help ensure that web resources meet best practice.

To succeed in this role you must have:

  • Extensive experience hand coding web development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and associated frameworks e.g. JQuery, with a relevant qualification an asset
  • Good skills in UX/UI design.
  • Good understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0).
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in building large websites and/or Intranets.
  • Proficient in using web development tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop and browser based debugging tools.

Experience in writing code for CSS preprocessors would be highly regarded.
