Note Issue Department oversees all aspects of the production and issuance of Australia's banknotes with the objective of ensuring public confidence in banknotes as an effective means of payment and a store of wealth. In doing so it manages every phase of the banknote life cycle, along with the supply, functionality and security of Australia's banknotes.

Key responsibilities:

  • To collect and collate data accurately for the Counterfeit Analysis group.
  • Extract data for reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis prepare data releases for Australian and international law enforcement agencies, other central banks and the public.
  • Help to improve the RBA’s management of data relating to banknote counterfeiting, and improve the section’s data management and reporting techniques.
  • Work on projects that aim to ensure that Australia’s banknotes are secure and counterfeiters are apprehended and prosecuted.
  • Work with data from other central banks and law enforcement agencies to provide a complete picture of counterfeiting.

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about data, have demonstrated experience using Excel and managing and extracting data from databases using SQL or from large data warehouses.

The role will be offered under a one year employment arrangement initially with scope to be offered further employment.
