Senior BI Test Analyst

Business Unit:

This role is part of the Corporate Services Group, Information Technology Department.
Corporate Services Group is responsible for effective provision of IT function in supporting the Bank's operations and managing the Bank's properties, security and facility services.
Information Technology Department - responsible for transforming and developing the core IT functions that support the Reserve Bank's policy, operational and corporate objectives.


The Senior Test Analyst will be responsible for testing related activities in an Agile project. The project is replacing several legacy solutions with an integrated Business Intelligence Platform.

You will participate in the planning, preparation and execution of testing and contribute to tracking and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring test coverage of business and technical requirements. This role will also see you contribute to the implementation and ongoing support of automated testing tools and test scripts.

You would also be responsible for:

  • Support a variety of strategic, coordination, planning and day-to-day testing related activities aimed at minimising risk while achieving high levels of quality and efficiency for the portfolio's deliverables in the most pragmatic manner.
  • Plan and execute testing related deliverables across various test levels that include both functional and non-functional testing.
  • Develop and maintain testing artefacts including progress reporting as appropriate.
  • Ensure consistent application of testing standards, practices, processes and tools by the vendor, project and portfolio teams.
  • Work with the team to drive quality improvements particularly in the testing space, to ensure a consistent approach to testing and to foster a quality mindset.
  • Share testing practices with other areas of the Bank to improve the standards and consistency of testing across the Bank.


  • Demonstrated understating of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with Data and Systems Migration, and Production Implementation of new systems.
  • Experience in Front end functional testing and Data comparison testing
  • Advance knowledge of Test automation tools and frameworks such as HP QTP / UFT or Selenium is desirable.
  • Experience planning, managing and executing test cases in an Agile environment.
  • An ability to engage stakeholders and define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Team Leadership (highly desirable)
  • Strong communication, documentation and report writing skills.
  • Previous working experience as a Senior Test Analyst on a large scale IT project.
  • Experience in test execution, the review of business and non-functional requirements, preparation of test plans, test cases and test summary reports.
  • Exposure to a variety of database, programming languages and operating systems, especially SQL, VB Scripts, Java, .NET and Windows operating system.
  • Experience in fostering a collaborative environment whilst ensuring that the customer's quality requirements are met.
  • Degree in IT, business, finance or other relevant discipline is highly desirable.
  • ISTQB Certification or similar is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Agile or Scrum methodologies is highly desirable.

You will pride yourself on your ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and bring with you advanced knowledge of data system analysis and design techniques as well as previous experience working with data from financial regulators. Additionally you will have an understanding of Data Management, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts.
