RBA’s Banking Department provides a range of banking services to Australian Government departments and other government instrumentalities as well as a number of overseas central banks and official institutions.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the Canberra Branch’s banking operations to ensure that a quality, efficient and effective service is delivered to all stakeholders. You will actively manage the Branch's daily processing, cash and safe custody operations and CBA/Australia Post business banking components of the Business Deposit Service.

You will also be responsible to Manage and supervise staff including training and development and performance reviews.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Manage accounts and authorities as required.
  • Liaise and work with the Manager, Customer Support and Manager, Collection Services to ensure the Branch's daily workflows are handled promptly and effectively.
  • Assist with the Branch's customer-calling and contract management program and development of business proposals.
  • Oversee periodic checks, ensuring that they are completed in an appropriate and timely fashion.
  • Ensure that the Branch's procedures are developed, maintained and adhered to.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Exceptional Analytical and problem solving skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the banking practices and procedures and the Bank's electronic systems and products
  • Working knowledge of the major Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and Human Resource (HR) packages used by Commonwealth agencies.
  • An understanding of banking and payment systems, services and operations.
  • You will actively demonstrate your ability to engage and motivate others, to communicate effectively, and to achieve positive results for the business.
