Data Architect

Business Unit:

This role is part of the Corporate Services Group, Information Technology Department.
Corporate Services Group is responsible for effective provision of IT function in supporting the Bank's operations and managing the Bank's properties, security and facility services.
Information Technology Department - responsible for transforming and developing the core IT functions that support the Reserve Bank's policy, operational and corporate objectives.

Role:

Design, develop and implement end to end data architecture solution across the Business Intelligence (BI) platform to meet the Bank's requirements; that are aligned with the Bank's BI standards and design patterns.

You would also be responsible for:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to identify their current and potential data requirements that enable business operations.
  • Work closely with technical stakeholders to understand current architecture and future technology roadmap to develop and end to end solution that is robust, secure and scalable.
  • Design, develop and implement and document effective data management lifecycle for the Bank, including data acquisition, migration, transformation, cleansing, processing, sharing and publishing.
  • Specify and design end to end data solutions considering the architecture for data management, systems infrastructure, integration, network and security to meet the Bank's business requirements.
  • Select appropriate data management solution design standards, methods and tools, in line with the IT architecture policy and strategy.
  • Co-ordinate the data analysis and modelling activities, in order to establish and understand the data classification, information flow, logic and relationships to facilitate the design of effective data management solutions for the Bank.
  • Work closely with enterprise architects and technical teams to identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility, and recommend new approaches that benefits the Bank.
  • Evaluate and undertake impact analysis of major design options, while assessing and managing associated risks. Ensure that the solution design balances functional, service quality and system management requirements.
  • Undertake relevant research including the evaluation of new software, tools and techniques while ensuring fit to the Bank's enterprise architecture, standards and strategic direction.
  • Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.

Experience:

  • Experience working with Banking and Financial data
  • Proven experience in delivering data management solutions using data warehousing and business intelligence technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of data modelling techniques, including 3NF, Dimensional and Data Vault.
  • Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of solution architecture and design for business intelligence solutions.
  • Strong understanding of specific BI technologies:
  • Microsoft SQL Server database and related technologies e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
  • IBM Infosphere technologies e.g. DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyzer, Information Governance Catalog
  • Broad experience in solution architecture design, systems analysis, software development, problem management, data management, database design, infrastructure, integration, network and data security.
  •  
  • Skills and experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to ensure that the solution is scoped in accordance with business and architectural objectives.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching team members.
