2020 Graduate Development Program at the RBA in Information Technology

The 2020 Graduate Development Program in IT at the RBA is designed to support the development of emerging professional talent. RBA IT embraces innovation and works closely with the banking industry, Commonwealth government and foreign central banks.

At the RBA our IT Graduates work with leading-edge technologies aligned with industry frameworks. Each IT Graduate is supported through their career exploration by the RBA IT Senior Leadership Team. Our graduate program provides you with four rotations in areas including:

  • Project management and business analysis
  • Strategy, enterprise architecture and technology innovation management
  • IT Security – analytical, testing and consulting
  • Network engineering
  • Software development – .NET
  • Mobile Technologies (iOS and Android)
  • Infrastructure and Operations
  • Business intelligence – architecture, development and analysis
  • Collaboration platform development

At the end of the graduate program there are ample opportunities for ongoing employment within these areas.

Our IT Graduates contribute on rotation to major initiatives with impacts for all Australians, including:

  • the New Payments Platform (NPP), providing real time payments nationwide;
  • the RBA Business Intelligence platform, holding data to inform economic analysis; and
  • high profile information security initiatives leveraging machine learning, leading threat intelligence and internal technical expertise to protect our services.

Our recent IT Graduates have also played important roles in the Interbank Innovation Project with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, and our internal innovation events (RBA CodeFest).

2019 IT Graduate applicants must hold or be completing a degree with strong academic achievement in information technology, information systems, computer science, or a closely related discipline. All applicants must be Australian permanent residents or citizenship, or New Zealand citizenship.
