The Bank is currently embarking on a transformation process to uplift it policies and process, provide more strategically oriented HR services and improve business engagement. This exciting opportunity is available for an experienced HR leader who thrives on change to contribute to this process.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will oversee and provide strategic input into the Bank's Employee Relations. You will also manage the outputs of the team having regard to quality, efficiency, timeliness and risk management.

More specifically, in this role you will:

  • Provide leadership to the ER team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Bank's strategy for ER and manage the implementation of that strategy.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and implementation of employment-related policies, guidelines and processes. Provide guidance on, and interpretation of, these policies.
  • Establish mechanisms to ensure compliance with policies and legislation where appropriate.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and negotiation of the Bank's suite of employment arrangements, including the Workplace Agreement, Individual Employment Contracts and other Terms and Conditions applicable to staff.
  • Support HR's engagement with external parties, in particular, the Bank's relationship with employee groups (e.g. FSU) and represent the Bank as required in matters coming before the Fair Work Commission.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will bring both strategic HR and business expertise and a strong knowledge of best practices in HR. You will also have exceptional stakeholder management skills and a successful track record of team leadership.

You will also possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • A strong understanding of employment legislation.
  • Experience in initiating, undertaking and overseeing research and analysis on policy issues.
  • Experience at a management level at developing and implementing policy changes.
