Data Goverance Lead

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience in data governance, business analysis and stakeholder engagement across multiple initiatives in data management and data migration. This is a newly created position within our Enterprise Data Office where you will bring data governance best practices to a number of projects in data modelling, metadata management, data migration and advanced analytics tooling. You will also provide leadership and support to data stewards and business aligned data teams across the Bank.

You will also:

  • Drive key governance forums and work with data owners and stewards on identifying, defining and implementing data governance processes and data management practices, policies and guidelines.
  • Work with Enterprise Data Architect to model the lineage of data from its source through to its delivery and to define technical information such as format, structure, residing system and technical rule calculations, about data assets.
  • Work with the Manager of Data Management and Enterprise Data Architect to define terms used by the business in clear and unambiguous language and to assign owners to terms to facilitate shared understanding.
  • Support prioritising and performing data on boarding onto the strategic platforms to enable reporting and analytics.   

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant university degree – highly desirable.
  • DAMA DMBOK accreditation – highly desirable.
  • Project related accreditation (PMBOK or PRINCE2) – highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in Data Governance.
  • Hands on experience in Data Management Technology.
  • Advanced understanding of Adoption and Training.
  • Passionate about Data Analytics.
  • Experience in Metadata Management, Master Data Management and Data Quality Management
