Our Financial Stability Department analyses the implications for financial system stability of developments in the macroeconomy, financial markets and the financial sector more generally and provides advice on these issues to the Governors and the Board. We are now looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Policy and International Section and assist in the conduct of research and analysis into issues that support the Bank's financial stability objective, including the preparation of information papers and the presentation of this work at the weekly department meetings.

The team works closely together on regulatory developments and you will:

  • Review papers coming in to the RBA and draft briefings drawing on key points.
  • Provide briefing material and analysis for the Bank's Financial Stability Review, and its representatives on the Council of Financial Regulators, Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and Financial Stability Board.
  • Monitor developments in your area of responsibility in order to contribute to the Department's ongoing assessment.
  • Support our membership of international bodies.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:  

  • A working knowledge of the Australian financial system
  • An ability to prepare written reports and make oral presentations with clarity
  • Experience in macroeconomic or financial analysis
  • An ability to work towards tight deadlines
  • A honours degree or equivalent in economics, finance or a related discipline will be highly regarded
  • Some travel may be required.
