Senior Policy Analyst

We are currently looking for a Senior Policy Analyst to undertake research and contribute to planning for a range of initiatives related to banknote development and production. This includes aspects associated with security feature development, banknote design, policy development, banknote trials, public consultation and stakeholder management.

The Reserve Bank of Australia’s Note Issue Department is responsible for research into and development of new banknote designs and security features, and the supply of good quality banknotes to meet the community's demand. Our Banknote Planning and Partnerships team is responsible for progressing strategies and policies for banknote development, along with engagement with stakeholders.

As part of the team you will:

  • Contribute to multi-year projects and new policy development designed to improve planning for banknote development and production
  • Coordinate the development of a relationship management framework to support strategic relationships and partnerships
  • Ensure effective engagement with various internal and external banknote stakeholders, including the cash-handling industry, law enforcement, special interest groups (such as the vision impaired community) and Note Printing Australia
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of banknote communication channels to ensure their relevance and accuracy

The successful applicant will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g. business, project management, communications, economics, public policy 
  • Previous involvement in, and proven aptitude for, research, analytical and policy work
  • An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to articulate and communicate effectively both written and verbally

*This role requires a high level of security clearance. To be eligible to obtain a security clearance Australian citizenship is required.
