Solution Architect

  • Join RBA’s IT department working on a project with exciting challenges
  • Be part of Australia’s Central Bank that serves Australia’s public interest
  • 12 month full time, fixed term contract

     

In this role we require a Solution Architect to work on an industry facing internal system replacement project. You will be responsible for the design of solution architecture, through the application of architectural standards, principles and policies, ensuring alignment to the Bank’s endorsed data management standards and strategies.

 

As part of the team you will:

  • Work with business stakeholders to identify their current and potential requirements.
  • Specify and design end to end BI solutions considering the architecture for systems, data management, infrastructure, integration, network and security to meet the Bank's business requirements, and to support the strategic change programs undertaken by the Bank.
  • Select appropriate BI solution design standards, methods and tools, in line with the IT architecture policy and strategy. Review existing system designs to ensure a selection of technology and solution architectures are applied effectively.
  • Select appropriate standards for data analysis tools and techniques. Manage the investigation of the Bank's data requirements, co-ordinate the data analysis and modelling activities, in order to establish and understand the data classification, information flow, logic and relationships to facilitate the design of effective data management solutions.
  • Work closely with enterprise architects and technical teams to identify alternative solutions, assess feasibility, recommend new approaches and contribute to the IT roadmap.

 

The successful applicant will have the following skills and capability:

  • Advanced knowledge of solution architecture and design for business intelligence solutions. 
  • Broad experience in solution architecture design, systems analysis, software development, problem management, data management, database design, infrastructure, integration, network and data security.  Specific experience with secure, inter-organisation data services based integration will be valued as well as delivering data to internal consumers via service integration with data analysis tools.
  • Experience designing data models for business intelligence solutions. Knowledge of Data Vault and Dimensional data modelling will be valued.
  • Skills and experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders to ensure that the solution is scoped in accordance with business and architectural objectives.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and practices.

 

A degree qualification relevant to the Bank or IT industry is required as well as IT accreditations or certifications, particularly data management, business intelligence architecture related.
