Procurement Manager - Corporate Category & Governance

  • Join RBA’s Procurement team to lead governance and strategic sourcing of corporate spend
  • Be part of Australia’s Central Bank that serves Australia’s public interest
  • 5 year full time, fixed term contract

 

In this role you’ll develop and maintain the policies and processes that support effective governance of Procurement across the Bank. You will own the portfolio of corporate spend and lead strategic sourcing initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to work in partnership with the business to optimise the value of the Bank’s corporate spend, manage risk and meet internal stakeholder objectives.

 

As part of the team you will:

  • Manage and maintain the Bank's Procurement Policy and Guidelines aligned to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Bank's approach to Procurement
  • Draft and maintain Procurement templates and tools for Bank-wide use.
  • Establish and maintain processes and controls relating to Procurement and Government reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain Contract Management guidance and processes in line with regulatory requirements, internal controls and industry best practice.
  • Create and implement category strategies (for corporate spend) delivering improved value for money to the bank and demonstrating implementation of best practice strategic sourcing.
  • Proactively engage with the Bank departments to understand business objectives and sourcing needs and provide expertise on selected projects or areas of spend.

 

The successful applicant will have the following skills and capability:

  • Experience in drafting and implementing policies and governance, preferably with Government experience.
  • Experience in design and implementation of procurement governance tools (policies, procedures, templates).
  • Advanced skills in category management and strategic sourcing.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Knowledge of contemporary procurement practices.
  • Ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.

 

A degree qualification in business, law, finance, procurement or related discipline is preferred.
