Senior BI Business Analyst

The Senior Technical BI Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing system functionality, defining requirements, and contributing to the design of the system which analyses and forecasts liquidity in the Australian financial system.


You will be a highly capable, delivery-focused individual who actively contributes in project and stakeholder meetings. You will be accountable for defining functional and non-functional requirements through stakeholder engagement and analysis of SQL transformations that occur within the legacy solution. You will work closely with the IT project manager, development team and test team to ensure alignment of business and technical requirements.


The successful applicant will have the following skills and capability:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops involving senior stakeholders from the business and technology and enhance collective understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to distil complex requirements into clear and concise User Stories that are independent, negotiable, valuable, estimable, small and testable.
  • Adept at using technical tools for enhanced data analysis e.g. SQL, R, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Advanced Excel, Visio and SQL knowledge.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering outcomes in a fast paced Agile environment.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • A team player with demonstrated ability to work with uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Clear understanding of BABOK framework.
