Solution Architect - Workplace

The Bank will shortly be undertaking a major workplace building refurbishment project requiring IT solution delivery. We require a Solution Architect to define solution architecture and design for the Bank's Workplace department and other projects where required. This role will design solution architecture, through the application of Bank’s architectural standards, principles and policies, and ensure alignment to the Bank's endorsed data management standards and strategies.

As part of the team you will:

  • Take ownership of Architecture deliverables for Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents and ensure that they are agreed and endorsed by all stakeholders.
  • Select appropriate solution design standards, methods and tools, in line with the IT architecture policy and strategy. Review solution propositions to ensure selection of technology, best-practice and architecture review techniques are applied effectively.
  • Work with analysts in reviewing and refining business requirements, and work with subject matter experts (such as infrastructure leads, IT security and technology architects, operators, developers, and business experts) to develop high level designs, in line with the enterprise architecture, patterns and practices. This may extend to assist with detailed design and review work.
  • Identify and evaluate alternative options against technology principles, standards and other trade-offs such as cost, performance and scalability.
  • Provide support to Tech Leads and SMEs within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall mandated enterprise architecture

The successful applicant will have the following skills and capability:

  • In-depth understanding and practical experience in implementing Industrial Control Systems and/or operational technologies for facilities management is preferable
  • Ability to demonstrate how these systems can be integrated securely with organisational IT systems for access, authorisation and authentication, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of solution architecture and design for facilities management solutions including audio visual, building management control systems and access control systems
  • Strong experience in resolving solution design and architecture contentions.

A degree qualification relevant to the Bank or IT industry is required as well as IT accreditations or certifications (such as cloud, integration), TOGAF preferred or currently working towards.
