Senior Automation Specialist

Join a newly created team in IT Infrastructure working on exciting and challenging initiatives. We’re looking for someone with strong scripting or development skills with the ability to understand business processes and identify improvements through automation. 

Working as part of a small agile team you’ll be responsible for development and design of software defined infrastructure, systems, and process automation to meet business needs and IT strategy, while driving on premise data centre standardisation and integration with the private cloud. In this role you’ll also be:

  • Driving the evolution of Infrastructure automation and influence architectural decisions for core infrastructure initiatives
  • Designing, implementing and supporting infrastructure automation by using standard tooling and processes as well as providing a technical handover to BAU teams / customers
  • Establishing an infrastructure automation delivery pipeline
  • Solving problems and identifying process improvements

Skills and Experience

  • You’ll have a degree in IT and be passionate about all things automation, being an infrastructure automation champion
  • Development or scripting experience with knowledge of programming languages (e.g. PowerShell, JavaScript, Python, Puppet, Ruby, etc) is essential
  • Experience with automation toolsets (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc) is essential
  • Experience with DevOps principles, tools and frameworks is highly desirable
  • General network knowledge regarding TCP/IP, routing and networks is desirable
  • Strong background in systems administration and platform management is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
