Senior Developer - Payments Applications

This role is part of the Corporate Services Group, Information Technology Department. Corporate Services Group is responsible for effective provision of IT function in supporting the Bank's operations and managing the Bank's properties, security and facility services.

We have an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Senior Developer to develop and support effective application systems to support the Bank's business and ensure that systems are adequately tested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify design, develop, test, deploy and support enterprise applications to meet business requirements
  • Ensure compliance with IT SDLC framework and all system documentations
  • Support production systems through assisting in incident and problem resolution, debugging and enhancing the system
  • Undertake research including evaluation of new technologies, tools and techniques
  • Need to be contactable out of business hours for problem resolution on a roster basis

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • A degree qualification in IT with strong communication skills
  • Extensive experience in Java and J2EE application development throughout the full development cycle
  • Strong browser development skills including HTML, JavaScript, XML, Java, J2EE, Struts & Spring Frameworks and Hibernate Mapping
  • Strong skills in Java application server configuration, deployment and management, e.g. WebLogic, tcServer
  • Strong database design and programming skills (JDBC, SQL, stored procedures)
  • Familiar with current operating systems and databases (i.e. Linux and Windows, Oracle and SQL Server) in use at the Bank
  • Experience in supporting mission critical 24x7 real-time systems

As this role is focused towards applications that support the functioning of financial markets, some exposure to the banking or finance sector would be advantageous although not essential.
