Head of Risk and Compliance

We are currently looking for an experienced Head of Risk and Compliance to lead our Risk and Compliance department. This role reports to the Deputy Governor and works closely with management to identify and assess risks faced by the Bank, including financial, operational and compliance risks. Leading a team of experienced individuals, you will be responsible for ensuring the  consistent and effective application of the Bank's framework for managing risk, and communicating the Bank’s risk profile, and how it is evolving, to the Bank’s Risk Management Committee and the Reserve Bank Board Audit Committee.

Major responsibilities in the role

  • Ensure the framework for managing risks is applied consistently and report regularly to relevant committees.
  • Conduct an on-going program strengthening the risk framework and raising staff awareness.
  • Liaise with business areas to ensure that information on the Bank's risk management systems is up to date.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant Governor (Financial Markets), ensure that the Bank's credit exposure guidelines remain appropriate, and monitor compliance with those guidelines.

Skills and Experience

  • An ability to develop, implement and articulate strategic direction to diverse stakeholders including Bank Executives and Boards.
  • An ability to build and maintain successful relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in working productively with senior leaders and a proven ability in developing wider staff capability.
  • Knowledge of Reserve Bank functions and operations or financial markets will be highly regarded
