Senior Business Analyst

We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Financial Markets Project team. Initially the role will undertake senior business analysis and testing activities related to the introduction of new and enhanced functionality and processes for the Financial Markets Group (FMG).

The Financial Markets Group (FMG) is responsible for implementing the Reserve Bank's operations in domestic and foreign exchange markets, monitoring developments in financial markets and co-ordinating the Reserve Bank's relationships with international institutions.

As part of the team you will:

  • Lead the delivery of projects and enhancements related to FMG systems, operations and processes.
  • Work with users to formulate and document business requirements.
  • Prepare project documentation such requirement documents, testing strategies, support documentation, process maps, and regular status reports.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes along with compliance with the Banks PMF and technology policies/standards.
  • Perform test functions as required. This includes developing test strategies and plans, co-coordinating and executing testing, documenting results and performing training.
  • Assist with the management and implementation of routine enhancements to FMG systems. This includes liaison with business areas, prioritisation of requests and scheduling of development requests with IT.

Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of business analysis processes and practices.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret business needs and processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and practices.
  • An ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
  • An understanding of financial market operations preferably fixed income and foreign exchange.
  • Experience in the support and/or use of trading systems e.g Findur.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum projects
  • Have critical thinking and problem solving skills, and be able to think creatively about potential solutions.
