Graduate Analysts, Payments Settlements - 2021 Cohort

The 2021 Graduate Development Program in Business Policy and Services, Payments Settlements provides graduates with a unique opportunity to work in the Payments Settlements Department, which is responsible for operating critical infrastructure that supports the Australian payments system. This includes Australia’s Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system and the Fast Settlement Service, which provides real-time settlement for payments made using the recently-launched New Payments Platform.

Policy and Services Stream

As part of the RBA’s Payments Settlements Department, a graduate will be at the centre of helping to formulate and implement business policy for the RBA’s critical payment systems.

Applicants for the Policy and Services Stream must hold or be completing a degree with strong academic achievement with a strong business/commerce focus. Contributory studies in economics and finance or information technology and business information systems, would be highly valued.

Business Analyst Stream

As part of the RBA’s Payments Settlements Department, a graduate will be undertaking business analysis and project related activities to deliver solutions that enhance the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS) and other Payments Settlements systems.

Applicants for the Business Analyst Stream must hold or be completing a degree with strong academic achievement in information technology and business information systems. Contributory studies in economics and finance, business or commerce would be highly valued.

These positions therefore offers a unique and interesting insight into the operational work of a central bank and provides the opportunity to work in an area that contributes to the public interest every single day by providing the reliable, safe and efficient settlement services that are essential for a modern economy.
