Do work that makes a difference

As the Head of Business Engagement (BE) you will be responsible for developing and implementing HR's approach to business engagement and communication, and to provide inspiring leadership to the HR Business Partners.

Reporting into the Head of HR, you will have operational and strategic leadership of the HR BE function within the Bank. You will establish and maintain a clear framework for how HR engages with Bank leaders, and will work with Bank leaders, HR Centres of Expertise and the HR Business Engagement team to develop and implement strategic HR solutions in line with the corporate plan and the HR strategy. You will develop and embed solutions to help support key strategic people initiatives (e.g. engagement, retention, policies, systems, processes, leadership development). In this key HR leadership role you’ll provide leadership to the HR Business Engagement team, including setting a clear direction and objectives for the team, as well as supporting with development opportunities and providing guidance and coaching to your team. You will also support in driving transformation through the HR team and the Bank.

Your team

Our Human Resources department is a team of ~ 30 that supports the Bank's people initiatives from BE to Talent Acquisition, Training & Development, Diversity & Inclusion, HR projects to managing the Bank's remuneration arrangements, work health & safety and employee benefits.

The Head of Business Engagement role leads a team of 5 direct reports.

Your background

We’re seeking an ambitious and driven HR leader to continue to lead the HR Business Engagement function and its key people initiatives. Your thought leadership combined with your strong stakeholder management skills, resilience, leadership and personable nature will help set you up for success in this key senior HR leadership role.

To be successful in this critical role you will possess:

  • Strong experience in a HR leadership role with both operational and strategic components, managing a team in a diverse environment, as you will play a crucial role in the culture of the team/Bank
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills to develop and retain team members
  • An adaptable leader with proven success of driving key business outcomes and transformation
  • Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate, influence, and communicate strongly with key stakeholders across the bank
  • You are a strategic thinker that complements your strong planning, change management and project leadership abilities
  • An exceptional customer service and risk management mindset
  • Relevant degree qualifications.
