Do work that makes a difference

Opportunity for an experienced Test Lead to contribute to a highly visible project involving a complex SQL multidimensional data warehouse, reporting and analytics solution for APRA-sourced data which is used to analyse and forecast liquidity and other nationally critical data in the Australian financial system.

As dedicated hands on Test Lead you will be responsible for testing within a cross-functional, mature Agile team, with a strong focus on test automation to support delivery of the Transformation program which seeks to replace an existing data warehouse. The role requires taking an active part in providing testing support, maintaining and improving test processes, tooling and outputs.

This includes to develop and implement Test Plans/Test Strategies that appropriately address the risk and complexity of the new data warehouse and related application. One of the key objectives is to design, implement and continue to improve the test automation framework for the data warehouse solution based on adoption of CI/CD and BDD.

Your team

You will work closely with mature and high performing cross-functional Scrum teams within the RBA and with APRA. The work environment is collaborative, friendly and supporting with adequate support to work from home.

 Your background

 To be successful in this critical role you will possess;

  • Experience using Python or R Programming and SQL programming skills.
  • Worked on large scale data migrations on financial information and instruments.
  • Involved in root cause analysis on data quality issues to ensure data accuracy and completeness on the migration.
  • Experience in defining data reconciliation rules and building data reconciliation frameworks.
  • Experience in creating test harnesses to validate datasets under varying conditions or constraints.
  • The ability to liaise with Senior Data Analysts and Economists to provide guidance and  address issues raised on the datasets.
  • Hands on experience running defect analysis workshops and UAT sessions.  
  • Knowledge and experience with Apache Spark; Power BI and/or Tableau would be highly advantageous.
