Agile Full Stack Developer

This is an exciting opportunity for a Full Stack Developer to work on an in-flight, highly visible transformation program aimed at replacing a core reporting and data analytics system. The new solution will allow the Reserve Bank to store and manage data for the purposes of publishing statistical information regarding the financial sector, formulating financial and monetary policy, and otherwise performing its functions.

We are seeking a talented developer who wants to be involved in building a new data management platform. You will be hands-on in all aspects of the solution, from pipeline development, data transformation and consumption, ultimately helping the Bank’s economists to transform their data analytics practices to realise enormous business value. We are building a solution that integrates with market leading data science and analytical tools and you can be part of it.

You will be required to actively engage with the rest of the program team and stakeholders in estimation, planning and white-boarding sessions. A strong work ethic, excellent workplace behaviours and a true appreciation of Agile/Scrum values is critical to be successful in this role.

Your background

To be successful in this critical role you will possess;

  • Proven experience in Agile projects, with a deep appreciation of Scrum framework and values.
  • Experience with Test and Behaviour Driven Development.
  • Sound understanding of data and metadata management, including time-series data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and TransactSQL using MS SQLServer 2016 or above.
  • Knowledge of front-end and back-end security principles relating to confidentiality, integrity and availability.
  • Experience in data projects involving large-scale migration and reconciliation.
  • Experience in creating good UX design and/or development of minimalist web applications, desirable.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools, especially RStudio is desirable.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for Java/SQL/SSIS, desirable.
  • Knowledge of API standards and RESTful architecture.
  • Knowledge of data interchange formats such as JSON, XML and RAML.
  • Knowledge of ETL development using SSIS, desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Java Platform and JEE technologies.
  • Proven ability to learn new technologies and adapt to team’s needs.
