Senior Security Engineer - 2 years contract

The role of Senior Security Engineer has been created to design, deliver and maintain security technology (alarm and access control, CCTV, door control, intercom and IT networking systems) and bespoke high security pedestrian and vehicle doors in consultation with external service providers in New South Wales, Canberra and leased premises in other states.


As part of the team you will:

  • Monitor performance and perform maintenance on security and electrical control systems, hardware and software to ensure its adequacy, efficiency and integrity.
  • Provide expert security engineering advice and services for the Bank's operations and facilities.
  • Identify and specify security requirements, including contract briefs, options analysis and feasibility studies for security systems and facilities.
  • Coordinate and oversee non-Bank professional services providers and contractors to ensure a high standard of work performed (quality, cost-effectiveness and security).
  • Assist with the on-call roster for fault rectification and liaison with maintenance contractors.


Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold formal qualifications in a field related to physical security systems as well as relevant tertiary qualifications in either electronics, IT, electrical/communications engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience with enterprise wide CCTV, alarm and access control systems.
  • Have extensive experience in contract administration and managing relationships with third-party service providers.
  • Have relevant experience in managing small to medium projects with a commercial building environment.
  • Possess strong customer service skills, communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills.
  • Have a sound understanding of IT networks and IT cyber security principles.
  • Hold a current valid NSW Security Licence - Security Adviser and Security Equipment Installer.


This role requires applicants to seek an Australian Government security clearance that will be sponsored by the Bank. To be eligible to obtain a security clearance, Australian citizenship is required.
