As part of a growing team, we currently have two interesting opportunities for experienced BI Technical Lead. Working closely with IT and Enterprise Data Office (EDO), this is an opportunity to contribute to a long term strategic initiative involving a wide variety of data sourced from various external parties and data providers. These roles are within the Accelerated Data Consolidation Program (ADCP) being run in a maturing Agile (Scrum) environment to consolidate the Bank’s most critical data on the enterprise data warehouse. As part of these roles you will:

  • Provide leadership in data modelling and development capabilities within a cross-functional Scrum team to deliver the Bank's data requirements.
  • Directly engage with the Product Owners and business users to fully understand their product vision and requirements, and frequently demonstrate the developed capabilities for fast feedback.
  • Provide technical leadership in BI technologies such as SQL, IBM DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyser and IGC.
  • Work with key business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements and data models into well engineered BI designs and patterns that meet established standards while also undertaking the more complex programming tasks to implement them.
  • Design, build and maintain robust CI/ CD pipelines.
  • Support the Bank’s systems through implementation, problem resolution, de-bugging and system enhancements. 
  • Own and lead improvements in technical and Scrum practices.

Your team

You will work with a team of collaborative and motivated people who are passionate about data. The work environment is challenging, fast paced and team oriented focused on the delivery of solutions to meet diverse data requirements across the Bank. You will be supported through training and certification in Scrum, data analysis tools and modelling techniques.

Your background

We are looking for someone with experience working in Agile (Scrum) environment developing data warehouse solutions along with experience in providing technical leadership in BI technologies such as SQL, IBM DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyser and IGC.

To be successful in this critical role you will possess:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the design and development of BI solutions using IBM InfoSphere and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft BI technologies including SQL Server.
  • Proven knowledge of data transformation techniques (ETL/ELT).
  • Proven advanced knowledge in data warehousing and data modelling concepts.
  • Extensive experience in data migration.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with CI/CD technologies (e.g. GitLab, Azure DevOps and PowerShell.)
