Do work that makes a difference

Working closely with IT and Enterprise Data Office (EDO), this is an opportunity to contribute to a long term strategic initiative involving a wide variety of data sourced from various external parties and data providers. The role is within the Accelerated Data Consolidation Program (ADCP) being run in a maturing Agile (Scrum) environment to consolidate the Bank’s most critical data on the enterprise data warehouse.

In this role you will provide specialised development skills for sourcing, transforming and provisioning data to the Bank’s analysts and economists. More specifically, you will:

  • Provide data modelling and development capabilities within a cross-functional Scrum team to deliver the Bank's data requirements.
  • Directly engage with the Product Owners and business users to fully understand their product vision and requirements, and frequently demonstrate the developed capabilities for fast feedback.
  • Perform systems analysis and design of new patterns, undertake more complex programming tasks and ensure that systems are adequately tested.
  • Support the Bank’s systems through implementation, problem resolution, de-bugging and system enhancements.
  • Contribute to improvements in technical and Scrum practices.

Your team

You will work with a team of collaborative, motivated people, who are passionate about data. The work environment is challenging, fast paced, and team oriented focused on the delivery of solutions to meet diverse data requirements across the Bank. You will be supported through training and certification courses in Scrum, data analysis tools and modelling techniques.

Your background

We are looking for someone with experience working in an Agile (Scrum) environment developing data warehouse solutions in financial services, Banking or Insurance domains.

To be successful in this critical role you will possess:

  • Relevant data technology accreditations or certifications such as IBM InfoSphere and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong experience in BI technologies such as IBM DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyser and IGC.
  • Proven knowledge of data transformation techniques (ETL/ELT).
  • Proven knowledge in Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Experience in data migration.
