Do work that makes a difference

As the Senior Communications Officer you will be a key contributor to the Bank’s internal communication strategy. A natural collaborator and adept communicator, you will work closely with teams throughout the Bank to understand their communication challenges.

You will advise on and execute communication programs, planning and producing creative content that engages and connects, including intranet news, feature articles, presentations and multimedia content. 

You will work across all internal channels, spotting opportunities to improve processes and helping to build the Bank’s internal communications function. You will also provide specialist support for sensitive or complex communications.

Your team

You will be working in the Communications Division of Secretary’s Department. The division provides advice on and execution of external and Bank-wide communication programs, manages media relationships and public enquiries and maintains the RBA’s websites. Reporting to the Manager, Communications (Internal), you’ll work closely with our in house digital designers, web developers and communications specialists.

Your background

We are seeking an ambitious and driven communications specialist to continue to drive the Communications team’s key initiatives. Your strong stakeholder management and communication skills, resilience, and personable nature will help set you up for success in this key role.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • strong corporate communications experience, including developing, implementing and measuring the success of internal communication programs
  • an adaptable approach to teamwork with proven success driving business outcomes
  • A flair for developing and implementing compelling communications with a focus on people and excellence, diversity and inclusion
  • strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, and ability to build relationships at all levels across the organisation
  • knowledge of change management best practice
  • Experience in issues management and handling sensitive information
  • Tertiary qualifications in communication, journalism or public relations are essential
