Our Information Technology team anchors the RBA's strategic responsibilities, and is the core provider of technology facilities, services and support to the organisation.

In this role, you will manage a dedicated team and coordinate with other sections of IT to plan, estimate and deliver a portfolio of effective and efficient technology services covering applications, projects, and other business as usual activities to support Financial Markets Group (FMG) operations. More specifically you will:

  • Liaise with Financial Markets Group to understand their business requirements to identify, propose, plan and initiate projects or initiatives to improve processes, systems and applications within the portfolio.
  • Establish sound relationships between the business and IT through effectively planning, designing and delivering outcomes.
  • Proactively manage and implement business and IT changes and ensure business satisfaction throughout the service lifecycle, and establish reporting to show the value provided to the business from IT.
  • Successfully deliver and/or support key strategic change programs. Prepare, initiate and review project plans, costings, schedules, controls and reports. Manage risk and ensure that solutions to problems are implemented in line with IT enterprise standards.
  • Maintain an industry leading approach to the development and operations of application systems and ensure that the quality of the work is continuously improved.
  • Monitor and review progress during the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure that appropriate methods and standards are applied
  • Lead, guide and develop individuals and teams, including project teams where required, to effectively achieve area outcomes.

As a key contact between IT and Financial Markets Group your ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels will be essential to your success in this role. You must also possess:

  • Certification or higher in leadership and management.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as ITIL, PMI, AGILE etc. Advanced knowledge of the Solution Delivery Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of project management concepts and the steps involved in coordinating large projects.
  • Good understanding of financial markets businesses, and their IT and data management needs.
  • Extensive experience in applications design and development, including application enhancements and maintenance.
  • Extensive experience in management of end to end SDLC projects and teams.
  • Extensive experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with business stakeholders at various levels.
  • The ability to articulate technology benefit in terms of business functions.
  • A working knowledge of .NET development, CI/CD integration and/or other development frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in applications design and development, including application enhancements and maintenance.
  • Extensive experience in management of end-to-end SDLC projects and teams.
  • Proven experience in managing, motivating and supervising staff.

To be considered for this role you must also have degree qualifications relevant to the Bank or IT industry. IT certifications and Financila Markets Systems eperience is highly desirable but not essential.
