Do work that makes a difference

This position reports to the Chief Data Officer) and leads the refresh of the Bank’s strategic platform for storing and analysing data. The refresh involves replacing a number of infrastructure components that are coming to end of life, as well as introducing new capabilities for data science, advanced analytics and end user self-service.

In this role you will provide leadership, management and guidance to enable successful refresh of the Bank's data warehousing and Big Data platforms and associated analytical tools. You will also:

  • Manage the selection of vendor products which meet business requirements and strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain appropriate strategies for replacement of existing systems and business processes
  • Manage the project on a day to day basis including directing the project resources to achieve the target outcomes, and whilst minimising impact on business-as-usual activities

Your team

This role has 3 direct reports and you will lead a wider cross-departmental team of around 20 people.

Your background

We are looking for strong Project Manager with proven experience managing large enterprise-level projects using both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies along with advanced understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, Big Data platforms and analytics tools in hybrid cloud context, ideally in financial services.   

To be successful in this critical role you will possess:

  • Experience in managing cross functional teams to deliver fit for purpose business products on time and budget
  • Significant experience working in leadership positions in both Business and IT domains
  • Experience in effectively engaging internal (senior management) and external stakeholders, including vendors and industry partners
