Senior Network Engineer - 24 Month Contract

More flexibility, less one-size-fits-all

 

Our Information Technology department is looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a 24 month contract with a focus on network end user experience who will act as a network evangelist in providing support and development services in relation to planning, designing, troubleshooting, testing and implementing the Bank's network infrastructure platforms including traditional network routing and switching, wireless, storage networking, firewalls and telephony. The Bank is currently on the journey of a Software Defined network and your skills and experience will be required to support key next generation networks including ACI and Software Defined Access as well as the relevant sub systems. You will also:

 

  • Actively work with customers to educate and provide solutions for improved network experience
  • Undertake the provisioning, upgrading, capacity planning and performance testing of network (data, wireless) systems infrastructure
  • Participate in a 2nd line incident response capability for network infrastructure operational issues
  • Produce design, technical documentation, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions
  • Test, implement, monitor and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues
  • Manage the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate
  • Undertake acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment
  • Occasional scheduled work at our Business Resumption Site at Bella Vista will be required

 

To be successful in this critical role you will possess:

  • Degree preferred in IT coupled with Industry accreditations in ITIL, Cisco and Wireless
  • Strong customer engagement skills
  • Strong knowledge of communications infrastructure in Cisco, including wireless technologies
  • Strong knowledge of networking systems and software covering both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)
  • Understanding of networking and enterprise design
  • Strong experience in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation
  • Good working knowledge or willingness to learn: Network management tools such as Cisco DNA Centre, Statseeker and Infoblox
  • Good working knowledge or willingness to learn: Python and relevant scripting languages to automate activities
  • Good working knowledge or willingness to learn: Firewalls (Cisco/Palo Alto)
  • Good working knowledge or willingness to learn: F5 (LTM, GTM and BIGIQ)
