This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to assess and evaluate Bank activities by maximising data analytics and provide an objective risk based assessment to the Governor (as the Reserve Bank's accountable authority), the Reserve Bank Board (through the Audit Committee) and senior management.

 

You will partner with the Audit engagement team and have overall responsibility to collect and interpret data for an engagement, analyse and interpret the results including identifying patterns and trends to improve the Bank’s system of controls. You will be involved in reporting data insights to management through proper use of visualisation techniques.

 

Support the implementation of Audit's strategic and business plan, Audit Plan and the associated procedures and methodologies. In particular, help to build the data analytics capabilities across the department and support the data analytics approach on Audit engagements so as to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of testing.

 

Your team

 

Audit Department is responsible for conducting independent appraisals of the Reserve Bank's activities, functions and operations to ensure that an adequate framework of internal controls has been established and is operating effectively.

 

You will work on diverse audit engagements across the bank with the opportunity to be strategic and make a change. The work environment is collaborative, friendly and supporting with adequate support to work from home.

 

Your background

 

To be successful in this critical role you will;

 

  • Produce relevant analysis that informs decision-making within the Bank. This would include applying appropriate techniques to extract knowledge and insights from a wide variety of internal and external data.
  • Use appropriate methods (e.g. written, verbal, visual, etc.) to effectively communicate project progress and outputs relevant to internal and external decision-makers, team members and other audiences in support of the Banks functions and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with relevant internal and external team members to support and enhance analysis.
  • Have experience with programming languages including: R, Python, Intermediate SQL programming skills and proven data analytics skills including mining data, interpreting results, working with statistics, trends, etc.
  • Have experience in using data visualization technologies (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), and data wrangling tools (eg. RStudio, Tableau Prep Builder and Alteryx) to analyse and tell a story.
  • Have the ability to apply data analytics and visualisation techniques to streamline risk and control evaluation
  • Have at least 3 years or more experience as a Data Analyst.
