The Payments Settlements Department (PS) is responsible for the interbank settlement of payments in Australia, the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the settlement of the Reserve Bank's own trading activities.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Facilitate the establishment of frameworks, practices and processes to deliver high quality and timely outcomes to meet the current and future needs of the Bank.
  • Lead a multi-functional team working in an agile framework to deliver regular system patching, upgrades and fixes within tight timelines.
  • Lead and contribute to uplifting and refining the change delivery pipeline for PS systems, including planning, coordination and implementation in collaboration with other departments such as IT, Banking and Workplace.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and optimisation of activities required to deliver regular rapid changes to PS systems covering all environments.
  • Contribute to standardising and improving the processes and methodologies, including automation, used in implementing change for PS systems.
  • Facilitate Scrum and inter-Scrum team activities based on established frameworks, practices and processes and improve their adoption to evolve into a high performing Scrum team.

You will provide expertise and leadership in the area of Scrum ensuring practices are fit-for-purpose and the benefits from Agile adoption are well understood by the business and technical areas.

You will work collaboratively with responsible teams to embed, influence and lead change that impacts processes, people and systems.

Your background 

To be successful in this critical role you will have;

  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, collaborate and communicate strongly with key stakeholders across the Bank and externally
  • Proven experience being accountable for and successfully delivering key business objectives and RBA outcomes.
  • Knowledge of payment, clearing and settlement systems and associated technologies.
  • Knowledge of information technology change, security and incident management principles. 
  • Knowledge and experience working with Agile project methodology and/or Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes will be highly regarded
