Senior Analyst, Financial Stability

More excellence, less vanilla

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst with policy experience relevant to financial stability or prudential regulatory issues, and an interest in bank resolution and crisis management arrangements for the financial sector.

Our Financial Stability Department is focused on the stability of Australia’s financial system and contributes to the continuous development of Australia’s crisis management arrangements and resolution framework for banks and insurance companies.

Your responsibilities

  • Carrying out research and analysis into key policy topics that support the Bank's role in financial stability and crisis management for the financial system;
  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with staff engaged on policy issues across the Bank and other Council of Financial Regulators (CFR) agencies (APRA, ASIC and Treasury); and
  • Contributing to both the domestic and global policy debate, including by producing policy advice and coordinating briefing material for the Bank’s senior representatives on the CFR and international bodies, such as the Financial Stability Board and the International Monetary Fund.

Your background

  • Honours/double, Master or PhD degree in economics, law or finance;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated analytical capability, and the ability to quickly digest and assess new information and issues, and update policy advice;
  • Collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of colleagues across the Bank, at other CFR agencies, as well as internationally;
  • The ability to work independently; and as a team.
